Marianne is an emerging and self-taught Korean-Canadian artist.  Radiating warmth and light, her art is intended to evoke a sense of magic and nostalgia. Drawing inspiration from her connections to Ontario, her upbringing in Québec, and her world travels, Marianne weaves a tapestry of influences into her artwork. Her rich interplay of colours and marks emerge through her application of thin layers of acrylics and mixed media. She also often incorporates neon hues to explore the intersection between the natural and digital realms, blending the real with the surreal.

Currently, Marianne's focus is on painting nature, with a particular emphasis on landscapes. Her work reflects themes of identity, belonging, and interconnectedness, highlighting the importance of community as a means for sustainability. Just as trees and flora thrive through mutual support and communication, her works underscore the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment. This emphasis on ecological preservation is particularly poignant in the context of climate change and recent wildfires, reinforcing the need to protect our natural world and the communities within it.
